Kelli Selbst

Hi!  My name is Kelli. I am so excited to be a part of this amazing adventure. This trip will be my first time doing an extended bike tour and I can't wait to spend a week in Tennessee and North Carolina, especially since I don't get to ride down too many hills in Houston.

OFF THE BIKE:

I work in Houston at St. Joseph's Hospital as a podiatric surgical resident. By the time we start the ride, I will be finished with my residency and I can't wait!

I spent my college years at LSU (geaux tigers!) and my med school years in Miami.  I'm excited to explore a different part of the country, and I can't believe we'll be doing it on bikes. Raising awareness and support for Anaplastology is such an inspiring cause. As a podiatrist, I treat patients who have undergone amputation, and to be able to support a medical field focused on prosthetic rehabilitation means a great deal to me.

The Cause

Anaplastology is a term that refers to the practice of prosthetic restoration of facial or somatic (body) anatomy for patients who have suffered disfigurement due to cancer, trauma, or congenital origin. Prosthetic rehabilitation serves as an alternative treatment option when surgical reconstruction is unachievable or undesired by the patient.
